Hey Reader
Welcome back to The Wednesday Story Reset.
Every Wednesday:
• One story you can reuse
• One practical speaking insight
• One deeper shift to build a stronger voice
Let’s begin.
1. The Story You Can Reuse
Before becoming a global icon, Michael Jordan faced a rejection that many people never forget.
He was cut from his high school varsity basketball team.
He went home.
Closed the door.
And cried.
For many, that moment would have been the end of the story.
For him, it was the beginning.
He made a decision:
“I’ll work harder than everyone else.”
He trained relentlessly.
Practiced more.
Pushed harder.
Showed up again and again.
Years later, he said:
“I’ve failed over and over again in my life.
And that is why I succeed.”
The same boy who was rejected went on to become:
• 6× NBA Champion
• 5× MVP
• Widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time
Where You Can Reuse This Story
This story works beautifully when you want to talk about:
• Handling rejection
• Growth mindset
• Confidence building
• Resilience and persistence
• Turning failure into fuel
Structure to remember:
Rejection → Decision → Relentless action → Extraordinary outcome
2. One Practical Insight: Rule of 3 Technique for Impromptu Speaking.
One of the simplest ways to sound clear and confident while speaking is using the Rule of 3.
Why?
Because the human brain naturally remembers things better in threes.
Instead of sharing random points, structure your message like this:
The Rule of 3
Whenever you speak, organize your thoughts into 3 key points.
For example:
If someone asks:
“What makes a great communicator?”
You could say: “Three things matter most:
- Clarity of thought
- Confidence in delivery
- Connection with the audience.”
Simple. Structured. Memorable.
Why This Works
• It makes your message easy to follow
• It makes you sound organized
• It increases recall for your audience
Great speakers don’t just think well.
They structure their thinking clearly.
3. One Stronger Voice Shift
Most people see failure as a signal to stop.
But high performers see it differently.
They see it as feedback.
Rejection doesn’t mean:
“You are not good enough.”
It often means:
“You are not there yet.”
Every failed attempt gives you:
• clarity
• direction
• improvement
The difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is simple:
Some stop at failure.
Others learn and continue.
Reflection for This Week
Think about one failure or rejection you’ve faced recently.
Ask yourself:
What did this teach me?
Because hidden inside that moment…
might be the next version of you.
I’ll see you next Wednesday at 7:00 AM.
