Hey Reader
Welcome back to The Wednesday Story Reset.
Every Wednesday:
• One story you can reuse
• One practical speaking insight
• One deeper shift to build a stronger voice
Let’s begin.
1. The Story You Can Reuse
There’s a famous story about Pablo Picasso.
One day, a woman approached him and said,
“Can you draw something for me?”
Picasso agreed.
He took a piece of paper…
and in about 30 seconds, he created a beautiful sketch.
He handed it to her and said,
“That will be $10,000.”
The woman was shocked.
“$10,000? It took you only 30 seconds!”
Picasso calmly replied:
“No… it took me 30 years.”
Still unconvinced, the woman thought he was exaggerating.
So she decided to test it.
She went to a few art dealers and experts in the market and showed them the sketch.
One by one, they told her:
“This is original.”
“This is Picasso’s work.”
“This is easily worth even more.”
In that moment, she realized something.
What looked like 30 seconds of work was backed by decades of mastery.
Where You Can Reuse This Story
This story works beautifully when you want to talk about:
• The value of expertise
• Mastery and experience
• Pricing your work confidently
• Respecting skill and craft
• Professional growth
Structure to remember:
Simple request → Quick execution → Objection → Validation → Deeper truth
2. One Practical Insight: End Stronger Than You Start
Most presentations don’t fail at the beginning.
They fail in the last 60 seconds.
Here are three common mistakes — and how you can fix them:
1️⃣ The Fade-Out Ending
Most people end like this:
“Yeah… that’s it.”
This weak ending dilutes your entire message.
Fix:
End with a strong takeaway:
👉 “If there is one thing you remember from this presentation, let it be this”
2️⃣ Weak Q&A Transition
People say:
“Any questions?”
It feels uncertain and unstructured.
Fix:
Take control:
👉 “We’ll take two questions.”
Now you sound clear and confident.
3️⃣ No Clear Action
People end with:
“We’ll take this forward later.”
No direction. No urgency.
Fix:
Give a clear next step:
👉 “Here’s one thing I want you to do right after this presentation”
Remember:
You need to start strong.
But you must end stronger.
Because the ending is what people remember.
3. One Stronger Voice Shift
Here’s something many people struggle to accept:
You are not for everyone.
And not everyone is for you.
And that’s okay.
Not everyone will resonate with your ideas.
Not everyone will connect with your style.
Not everyone will value your perspective.
And they don’t have to.
Because your goal is not to be liked by everyone.
Your goal is to be valuable to the right people.
The moment you accept this…
You stop overthinking.
You stop trying to please everyone.
You start showing up more authentically.
Confidence grows when you stop asking:
“Will everyone like this?”
…and start asking:
“Will this help the right people?”
Reflection for This Week
Ask yourself:
Where am I trying to please everyone… instead of serving the right people?
Make peace with it.
You don’t need everyone.
You need the right ones.
