Wednesday Story Reset 😃

Edition #12

A weekly Newsletter for Reader by Yours Truly Coach Haritosh Srivastav

Hey Reader

Welcome back to The Wednesday Story Reset.

Every Wednesday:
• One story you can reuse
• One practical speaking insight
• One deeper shift to build a stronger voice

Let’s begin.

1. The Story You Can Reuse

A man was walking down a road and saw three people laying bricks.

He went to the first person and asked:

“What are you doing?”

The man replied,

“Can’t you see? I’m laying bricks so I can earn money and feed my family.”

He went to the second person and asked the same question.

“What are you doing?”

The second person said,

“I’m a builder. I’m constructing a wall.”

Then he went to the third person.

Same question.

“What are you doing?”

This time, he noticed something different.

A smile.
A spark in the eyes.

The third person said,

“My friend, I’m building a school. A place where children will come, learn, and become better human beings.”

Same work.
Same bricks.

But completely different meaning.

Where You Can Reuse This Story

This story works beautifully when you want to talk about:

• Purpose and meaning
• Mindset at work
• Career vs calling
• Leadership and vision
• Motivation and engagement

Structure to remember:

Same action → Different perspectives → Deeper meaning → Reflection

2. One Practical Insight: End Stronger Than You Start

One of the biggest reasons communication feels flat is this:

People only talk about what they do.

“I work in sales.”
“I handle operations.”
“I run a business.”

But impactful communicators go one level deeper.

They talk about:

👉 Why it matters

For example:

Instead of saying:
“I train people in communication.”

You could say:
“I help people find their voice so they can grow in their career and life.”

See the difference?

Same work.

But more meaning. More impact.

Whenever you communicate, ask yourself:

Am I just describing the task or am I sharing the purpose?

Because purpose creates connection.

3. One Stronger Voice Shift

Three people.

Same work.

But three different realities:

• Job
• Career
• Calling

The difference is not in what they are doing.

The difference is in how they see it.

And the same applies to you.

You can treat your communication as:

“I just have to speak.”

Or:

“I get to influence, inspire, and impact.”

That shift changes everything.

Because when you connect your work to a larger purpose…

Your energy changes.
Your confidence changes.
Your impact multiplies.

Reflection for This Week

Ask yourself:

What am I really building through the work I do?

Because the moment you find meaning in your work…

Your story becomes more powerful.
