A weekly Newsletter for Reader by Yours Truly Coach Haritosh Srivastav

Happy Friday Reader,

I am outside the Summer Camp gate waiting to pick up my daughter and suddenly the caretaker said something that truly resonated with me 100% and I thought I would share it with you.

She said - "We all make all the noise & complaints and provide bad feedback but how many times do we take time to appreciate and share a good or positive feedback with people"

Isn't this true for all of us whether you're an employee, customer or a parent, how many times we do that.

Reader, How are you going to provide a positive feedback in the coming week

Hope you are enjoying the new avatar of the weekly newsletter in a 'Toast with Haritosh' coming straight to you now every Friday.

I have been given the feedback that the name of the newsletter is not going well with what we do. Would love to know your suggestion for a better name of this newsletter

As always, I am open to suggestions, feedback, or criticism. You can send those by simply replying to this email.

Motivational Story of the Week

The Indian Billionaire Barber

This is Thursday Tale #2 and you can check out this story here

Ramesh Babu, a 'Billionaire Barber' grew up on one meal a day. After the death of Ramesh Babu's father when he was 7, his mother could not run the barbershop and she rented it out for Rs 5 a day.

Ramesh Babu did odd jobs during his childhood to support his mother to make a little extra money. Ramesh Babu started part-time newspaper delivery work, milk home delivery and whatever else was convenient at age of 13 to support his family.

By doing different kinds of odd jobs, Ramesh Babu continued his studies while supporting his family and finished his tenth standard study.

After his tenth class, Ramesh Babu decided to run his father’s shop instead of continuing his education. The salon was called ‘Inner Space’ and was in a shopping complex near the school where he studied. It soon became a trendy styling outlet.

Barber Ramesh Babu wanted to do something, so he planned to buy a car. Ramesh Babu saved some money from his salon and bought a Maruti Van (Omni) car from his little savings and own hard-earned money with the help of his uncle in 1993. Since it ended up being idle most of the time as he was busy in his barbershop, he decided to put it out on rent when it was not in use. Little did he know that this was going to one day make him a billionaire!

Ramesh Babu received his first business contract from Intel through a family for whom his mother worked since he was a child. As he slowly but steadily gathered a sizable customer base, Ramesh realised the potential of operating a high-end automobile rental service and began to build a fleet of cars.

Now Ramesh owns Ramesh Tours and Travels and has been collecting expensive cars for over 30 years now. He's been renting out luxury cars for years now, starting somewhere in the late 90s.

Today, Ramesh Tours & Travels runs in Delhi Chennai, Bengaluru successfully and the entrepreneur hopes to conquer his service in different locations across the country.

Ramesh Babu first invested in a luxury car was Mercedes E Class luxury sedan that cost him Rs 38 lakh. The fleet grew with three more Mercedes cars and four BMWs, which is, however, dominated by dozens of Toyota Innovas. At the moment his fleet consists of around 400 cars, vans and mini-buses, including imported vehicles a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, Mercedes C, E and S class and BMW 5, 6 and 7 series. He has a fleet of imported Mercedes vans and Toyota mini-buses.

Like he has been doing every day for the last few decades, Ramesh Babu, owner of Ramesh Tours and Travels, spends at least five hours daily in his salon at Bowring Institute.

Barber Ramesh Babu personally styles the hair of his regular customers. As a professional barber, he doesn't want to forget his roots.

If you have a goal in life and you choose to work relentlessly, there is a good chance you might become successful.

Tip of The Week

The Law of Third in Public Speaking

(You can also watch it at Instagram)

The law of third states that your audience is typically made up of 3 types -

  1. Die Hard Fans - They are your pure fans and they will agree to whatever you say. You don't need to do anything special to impress them
  2. Hardcore Critic - They are your pure critic. Regardless of whatever you do, they will never be impressed
  3. Neutral Ones - They are the ones who don't have any opinion or bias against or towards you.

Here's the most exciting thing, based on how you deliver, your neutral audience will either turn in to your hardcore critic or your die-hard fan.

Hi Reader, A few mornings ago, I revisited a simple story. An elderly man was walking on a beach when he noticed a young boy repeatedly bending down and throwing something into the sea. Curious, he asked, “What are you doing?” The boy replied,“These starfish were thrown out by the sea last night. If I don’t put them back, they’ll die.” The man laughed gently and said,“There are hundreds, maybe thousands of starfish here. What difference will it make?” The boy picked up one more starfish,...
