Toast With Haritosh 😃

Edition 34

A weekly Newsletter for Reader by Yours Truly Coach Haritosh Srivastav

You can also read this newsletter here

Happy Saturday Reader,

Are You Perfectiniost or Completionist

Are you someone who is looking at things perfectly (the perfect video, the perfect pitch, the perfect newsletter ;) )

Or Are you someone who loves to complete things for the sake of it.

If you ask me, the extremes of both these approaches are dangerous.

If you become a perfectionist, you end up doing nothing and become a procrastist. I have been there.

If you become a completionist, your only target is to do things for the sake of doing. This results into getting substandard results.

So Reader, which one are you?

So you may ask, what should I do?

I am going to say, choose a middle path where you keep on achieving milestones by completing your tasks.

At the same time keep asking this question - What more can I do or how better can I do this?

Once you adopt this mindset, you might achieve long-term sustainable success and write a better story for yourself.

By the way, I'm having my next Storytelling Masterclass today at 9 pm IST. I would love to see you there.

Hope you are enjoying the new avatar of the weekly newsletter in a 'Toast with Haritosh' coming straight to you now every Friday.

I have been given feedback that the name of the newsletter is not going well with what we do. I would love to know your suggestion for a better title of this newsletter

As always, I am open to suggestions, feedback, or criticism. You can send those by simply replying to this email.

Motivational Story of the Week

The Millionaire Auto Anna

You can also watch this Story here

Annadurai, also known as "Millionaire Auto Anna," was born into a poor family in Chennai. Despite limited educational opportunities, he dropped out of high school and decided to become an auto-rickshaw driver.

While many auto drivers struggled to make ends meet, Annadurai took a different path. He was determined to provide exceptional customer service. His auto-rickshaw was no ordinary one; it was equipped with a mini-fridge stocked with beverages and snacks, an iPad, a laptop, and even an AWS Deep Lens.

Annadurai's commitment to going above and beyond for his customers made him stand out. Passengers traveling in his auto were treated to luxuries that rivaled those in luxury flights. His story of exceptional customer service has been recognized worldwide, and he has been invited to speak at TEDx events and corporate gatherings, including Microsoft and Vodafone.

Annadurai's journey serves as an inspiring example of how dedication and a commitment to excellence can transform even the most humble of professions. His story reminds us that it's not our circumstances but our actions that determine our success in life.

3 Blunders To Avoid During Job Interview

(You can also watch it at Instagram)

Whether you're trying to get your first job or trying to go to the next level by applying inside or outside, one of the grueling yet common activities is going through an interview.

Here are the 3 blunders you must avoid for your next interview:

1. Avoid Eye Contact: When you avoid eye contact with your interviewer, it shows either you are underconfident or you are trying to hide something.

Both of these are not something you should indirectly express to your interviewer

2. Not Asking Questions: A lot of time interviewer will ask - Do you have any questions for me.

This is the time for you to shine or impress them.

A lot of people just say - No, I don't have any.

However, if you have done your research & prepared enough, you must ask a few questions.

E.g. What are the job or role responsibilities?

OR

What's the future expansion plan for the Marketing division etc.

3. Overexplaining Things: This one may be something we all have been guilty of at some point or other.

Ideally, when you have given your answer which is appropriate you shouldn't continue blabbering.

If you think you have said whatever was required, just stop and don't utter any extra word.

This will ensure you're not making any silly mistakes while trying to over-explain.

What other techniques you use to shine in your interviews.

Hi Reader, A few mornings ago, I revisited a simple story. An elderly man was walking on a beach when he noticed a young boy repeatedly bending down and throwing something into the sea. Curious, he asked, “What are you doing?” The boy replied,“These starfish were thrown out by the sea last night. If I don’t put them back, they’ll die.” The man laughed gently and said,“There are hundreds, maybe thousands of starfish here. What difference will it make?” The boy picked up one more starfish,...
